Automobile Insurance

silver carSince 1970, Williams, Turner & Mathis has been helping people sort through all the options available on an automobile policy to get the coverage that best suits their needs at a competitive value.  Our agents take pride in helping people understand the coverage they are selecting, especially when we are able to get more coverage for the same amount of money that you currently pay. . We love that we are not captive to just one insurance company and are able to offer you a choice of the top insurance companies.
Georgia law states any one driving a car in Georgia has to have at least mandatory coverage. But just being legal is probably not the best use of your money; particularly if you have an accident. Our team of licensed and experienced agents will explain various options available and what these mean for you. We pride ourselves on looking for additional credits for your policy, including various deductible options, bundling different policies with the same company and safe driver discounts among many others.
Your policy premium is based on many different factors. Some traditional ones that have been used for years include the driver’s age, sex and how the car is driven… to work or pleasure. With computerized rating many other things are considered when determining your final rate. To help get an accurate quote we suggest you have available the following items:
  • Prior insurance policy (which shows the effective date and coverage limits)
  • Vehicle Identification numbers for all vehicles (probably on your policy)
  • Driver’s license information for all household members (name as shown on license, date of birth    and license number)
  • Social security numbers for named insured (and spouse) credits are available for better credit scores.
  • Use of the vehicles including the mileage to work or school.
With this information we will “shop” your insurance with many different insurance companies to find the best match for you.
Below are some of the terms used in Automobile insurance:
  • Bodily Injury Liability – covers injuries to others when you have an at fault accident
  • Property Damage Liability – covers damage to someone else’s property cause by and at fault accident (usually the other car).
  • Medical Payments – provides coverage for minor medical expenses for anyone in the car regardless of if the accident is at fault or not at fault.
  • Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist – Provides insurance for you, if you were involved in a not at fault driver with someone who does not have insurance, or has limits that are not sufficient for the damage caused. There are options of add on coverage which allows your uninsured motorist coverage to be added to the at fault driver’s liability limits if their limits are not sufficient.
  • Collision – pays for the damage to your vehicle for a crash or rollover
  • Comprehensive – pays for damage to your vehicle caused by other than a collision such as fire, vandalism, glass breakage or hitting a deer.
